What is Tart Cherry?

Tart Cherry or sour cherry is a cherry that is grown primarily in North America.

Compared to regular black cherry, tart cherry is characterized by a deep, ruby-like red color which is due to a high concentration of anthocyanin, a potent antioxidant.
